JOB APPLICATION CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES REQUIRED IN KENYA

The following copies of clearance certificates are required when applying for certain jobs in Kenya, especially government jobs and are a basis for short listing candidates;

1.      CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT (CID) - GOOD CONDUCT

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) clearance certificate is known as GOOD CONDUCT is obtained from CID Headquarters in Nairobi which is located on Kiambu Road off Thika superhighway near Muthaiga Golf Club towards Kenya Pipeline Estate. Processing of the Good Conduct usually takes at least 2weeks charges kshs1000.

2.      HIGHER EDUCATION LOANS BOARD (HELB) CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

HELB clearance certificate - you’re required to fill a clearance form obtained from HELB offices on the Ground floor of Anniversary Towers on University Way, Opposite University of Nairobi in Nairobi town OR inside Huduma center at the GPO-general post office, Kenyatta Avenue near Nyayo House.

Beneficiaries of HELB LOAN are required to fill a loan repayment commitment form or clear the loan.

Non-beneficiaries of HELB LOAN are required to write a letter confirming they did not receive university loan

•  Charges: Kshs1000

• Requirement:

1. Duly filled HELB enquiry form
2. Letter by the applicant confirming they did not receive university loan
3. Copy of your high school examination certificate
4. Copy of graduation certificate
5. Copy of national ID (both sides)
6. A bank slip of Kshs1000 paid to:

OR

•  Pay kshs1035 at postpay counters inside Huduma GPO center
• NB: ONLY the NAME and ID NO: of the applicant should be indicated on the deposit slip
• There are no any other charges for this service

3. KENYA REVENUE AUTHORITY (KRA) CLEARANCE IN KENYA

KRA clearance certificate - you’re required to fill a clearance form obtained from KRA Nairobi offices on the Ground floor of Times Tower on Haile Selassie Avenue, near Central Bank, opposite City square post office OR inside Huduma center at City square post office on Haile Selassie Avenue or at the GPO-general post office, on Kenyatta Avenue.

KRA clearance certificate can be obtained from any KRA offices in Kenya where you obtained your PIN or taxpayer registration certificate.

If you have never remitted your tax returns to any KRA office, you will be required to pay a penalty in Kenya of kshs1200 for each year you have never remitted your tax returns. If you have remitted your tax returns and don’t have any tax issues the clearance is issued within a day.

4. ETHICS AND ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION (EACC) CLEARANCE IN KENYA

Ethics and Anti-corruption commission (EACC) clearance certificate - you’re required to fill a self declaration form obtained from (EACC) website http://www.eacc.go.ke/default.asp?pageid=9

OR inside Huduma center cyber at the GPO-general post office, Kenyatta Avenue near Nyayo House OR EACC offices on Integrity Centre along Milimani Road, next to Valley Road, near Hope International.

Page No.6 of the self declaration form; oath and affirmation should be signed and sealed by lawyer or magistrate

To obtain signature and seal of a Magistrate go to Forodha House in Milimani Law Court on Upper Hill Close near Ushuru Co-op Savings & Credit Society limited in Nairobi, Magistrate signature and seal cost around ksh50. Magistrate is only on duty between 12:00Pm -to- 1:00Pm and 2:00Pm -to- 3:30 pm Monday -to- Friday.

Alternatively get Page No.6 of the self declaration form signed and seled by a private lawyer at a higher cost.

The signed and sealed self declaration form should be taken for clearance signature from the EACC officials inside Huduma center at the GPO-general post office, Kenyatta Avenue or Integrity center.

• -    2 (two copies) of national ID (both sides)
• -       self declaration form
• -          Page No.6 of the self declaration form; oath and affirmation signed by lawyer or magistrate
• -          Photocopy the whole self declaration form when signed by lawyer or magistrate

•  -    Candidates should only attach in their job application COPIES of:
• -          Copy of clearance certificates
• -          job application form that is if the employer has (e.g. PAC2 form)
• -          copy of National ID
